Server
-
I worked at the front of the house for Ziingo. I welcomed the customers when they entered the restaurant and made sure that they understood the menu.
-
As I was helping to make the customers bowls I would give out suggestions on waht would be best on their bowls and I would also make small talk so that it didn't get awkward.
-
At the end of the day, I would help everyone clean up and then do my rounds to make sure that we had plenty of supplies for the next day. If we didn't, I would call it in and someone would deliver our supplies the next morning.

Centre St. Tap House, Portage, MI School Year 2021
Host/Food Runner
-
As a host, I greeted guests and helped them find a table that was suitable for them. I also helped the waiters clean up after the customers left.
-
As a food runner, I was in charged of putting the final touches, like the sauce, pickles, and other small dishes on the main dish. Then it was my job to bring the food out to the customers and made sure the customers had everthing they needed before going back to get the next tables food.
College and Community Engagement
Hope College - Intramural Sports, Holland, MI Fall 2023-Present
Athelete and Job
-
As a full time student, I balanced playing multiple intramural sports and having it as my on-campus job
-
As a athelete, I was able to participate in all my favorite sports with friends, at a less tense and competitive level. This was nice for me because I got to enjoy a little bit of the thrill I had when I was on a competitive team and yet I still have the time and energy afterwards to get homework done.
-
As a job, intramural sports has helped me to better manage my time with school and creating my own work schedule that works around school. It has also helped me find some pretty cool friends.
The Dow, Holland, MI Fall-Present
Working Out
-
I am kind of a skinny kid and has always wanted to get stronger and bigger. The Dow-Gym being a free resource I can use at Hope College has helped get closer to that goal.
-
The gym is not only a place for me to get bigger and stronger but it has been a very welcoming and encouraging community for me. I have found many interest and passions with people that are now close friends.
- Lastly, the Dow has been my happy place at Hope College. There is so much to do in the Dow. I can workout, go for a run, shoot hoops, play soccer, volleyball, and so much more.
Skills
-
I have two years worth of experience and knowledge in the sprinkler system department.
-
I have an arsenal of random and yet interesting facts about animals (nature nerd when I was younger).
