Wolfgang's is arguably the best breakfast den in Grand Rapids. Nestled in East Town between local pubs, and antique shops it is very walkable for many young people. If you aren't that close or are just feeling lazy they do have a community parking lot close by. Wolfgangs opens real early for you early birds, around 5 am and really picks up around 0900-1100 am with 2 hour waits not being uncommon. A fair warning as well, if you are waiting two hours don't expect a very comfortable waiting area. If you are willing to wait though you are in for a treat. Wolfgang's has a huge menu with many unique options as well as traditional breakfast entres. And don't worry about not ordering enough, every meal comes with very generous portions. So if you are a fan of leftovers you can easily squeeze 2 and even 3 meals out of this one breakfast.
Wolfgang's has great coffee, with my favorite being the hazlenut, and generally quick service, although with how busy they can get having to wait and remind waiters isn't unfaimilar at this East Town staple. But the service and the coffee is not why people continue to come back to wolfgangs. No matter what you get here it is sure to be delicious. Some of their more traditional and popular dishes are the biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns (which you must get with cheese and onions) and eggs benedict with a great hollandaise sauce. If you are more adventurous you can't go wrong with the Uncle Ron's Skillet, skillet topped with red skin potatoes, onions, ham, bacon, sausage and cheese with three eggs, a breakfast fit for a lumberjack! The westsider is a popular dish for our polish friends, with hash browns, cheese, onions, three eggs and a polish sausage. Past these though there are many wild combinations that go great together, and once you have your order in the cooks are great at getting the food out to you.
Once finished don't hesitate to take a walk around the unique, artsy part of town that is East Town. That is if you can walk after this heaping of a meal.
