Cause of Death
After completing a mission with UNICEF in Somalia, Hepburn began to have abdominal pain. While in Los Angeles, doctors discovered she had a rare form of cancer in her appendix and its surrounding areas. Unable to treat it, Hepburn was given 3 months to live. Since a commercial flight would be too much for Hepburn, Givenchy lent out his private plane, so she could spend her final months in Switzerland
Legacy
Throughout her time Hepburn was extremely impactful in a lot of areas in her life. Audiences felt attracted to her as she was the right blend of charming, elegant, and comedic. Viewers felt it was refreshing to see someone of a more slender frame as it went against the ideal body type like Marilyn Monroe's.
Her relationship with Givenchy was the first of its kind. It set the precedence for stars and fashion houses as celebrities had never endorsed a fashion house.
While known more for her filmography, her work with UNICEF during her later years was also impactful as she brought more awareness and exposure to problems that were prevalent throughout the globe.
