Harry Potter: The main character of the book, lives with his Aunt and uncle who hates him and eventually goes off to Hogwarts to learn magic.

Ron Weasley: Harry’s best friend since the day they went to Hogwarts. He has a massive family and isn't very wealthy, but proves himself to be a valuable person and loyal friend.

Hermione Granger: Harry’s other best friend who is well known as a know-it-all. She is extremely smart and often helps Harry and Ron out of difficult situations.

Draco Malfoy: Harry Potter’s arch-nemesis and a devoted believer in Pure-blood supremacy. He is wealthy and often bullies Ron for his family's lack of wealth.

Adults/Teachers

Rubeus Hagrid: A massive man who loves dangerous creatures. He is the gamekeeper at Hogwarts and is deeply trusted by Dumbledore, despite being a bit gullible.

Albus Dumbledore: The headmaster of Hogwarts and the most accomplished wizard of his generation, considered a genius by many.

Severus Snape: A teacher who dislikes Harry and often makes his life difficult. The reasons for this animosity unfold throughout the series.

Quirinus Quirrell: A teacher at Hogwarts who plays a crucial role at the end of the first book.

Lord Voldemort: The most feared Dark Sorcerer of all time, rivaled only by the likes of Dumbledore and Grindelwald in power. He met his downfall through Harry and seeks ways to return.
