Wuthering Heights

Emily Brontë

1847

"At the centre of this novel is the passionate love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff - recounted with such emotional intensity that a plain tale of the Yorkshire moors acquires the depth and simplicity of ancient tragedy. "

Goodreads

Wuthering Heights is an intense novel. Few, if any, of the characters should be considered "good people". It's full of complex emotions and reactions and it's one of the best books I've ever read. It's not super long but will leave an impression once you've finished it.
