Ancient Science
Though in many ways far behind modern science, the ancients still worked hard to make sense of physical reality. Oddly enough, Scipio's dream allows us some interesting insights into the ways in which the ancients approached science.
Celestial Afterlife
Most of Scipio's dream takes place in the heavenly realms. He spends a good deal of his time there looking back into the universe, using his heavenly perch as the perfect vantage point. However, he gains a few glimpses into the meaning of the afterlife as well.
Earthly Tumult
After going to a place as wonderful as Scipio does, who would want to return to Earth? In many ways, Scipio's dream only serves to show the gaping chasm between otherworldly and thisworldly existence.
